14 After many prayers to Our Lady of Guadalupe, to my daughter’s deceased grandma who was a Lay Carmelite, the Saints and St. Philomena, Maria, 37 years old, received the news that she was going to have a baby boy. Unfortunately, she had a very rough pregnancy. She suffered severe toxicity (pre-eclampsia) and everything was going wrong. I asked her to wear the Scapular of Mt. Carmel which she did. After she did this, she felt better and found the right doctor to help her. The baby was delivered by C-section and weighed only 3 pounds. The doctors told her that had she waited longer, the baby would have separated from the umbilical cord and died. Sweet Baby Ray was baptized on the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel! He is now 4 months old and weighs 14 pounds! I had cancer 20 years ago. I always wore my Scapular through exams, chemo and radiation.
