I have just recently joined the ULRA. I am not good at writing letters so please bear with me. I wrote to you from prison and you sent me some materials. Among the things included was a picture with GOD BLESS YOU on it. When I saw this, it brought tears of joy to my heart and made me feel like someone does care. You know, I hear people say all the time that “One person can’t change the world.” I believe that statement to be totally false. One act of kindness can start a chain reaction that could create thousands! The same is unfortunately true about hatred. I have decided to turn my life over to God and let Him direct me. Thank you very much for the picture; it really brightened my day! May God bless the Living Rosary Association! Your brother in Christ, 11 < Eddie - USA > What great thankfulness I have to Jesus and Mary for the work you are doing! In reading your Dedicated Decades, it is clear that St. Philomena helps the unreachable, changes lives and blessings abound. I am a Texas inmate and do not receive any money. What I desire are the treasures of Heaven. Can I be a member? The prison is strict: no Rosaries, Scapulars or Medals. I use to be a man of rage and left behind me a path of misery and destruction. But, no more! My life belongs to Jesus. I have your Spring issue and I meditate on the pictures and am absorbed by the articles. Can you send me a Catholic Catechism? All glory to God! < Juan - TX > I am doing a 40-year sentence and am starting my 13th year in prison. Thank you for giving me a Decade in the Living Rosary and sending the Scapular. I have never signed up for anything like this before. I asked the Lord for help before I did this. I love the Rosary and wear the Scapular all the time. I hope you won’t get mad at me for writing, as I don’t get mail these days, but wanted to thank you for your work. I have 2649 days before they will let me go home. < Garry - TX > I was born and raised a devout Catholic, but have fallen away over the years. I don’t even remember how to pray the Rosary, but I will start today with your help. < Armando - NV > I must admit that I have been rather disappointed and saddened that more men here have not been willing to commit to one Decade of the Rosary. Unfortunately, I think that it reflects the systemic fear of commitment that many people have nowadays because of the pain of past experiences and the broken relationships from which they suffer. I continue to pray for them and forge ahead. Many at the prison have suffered untimely deaths and sickness. The Airway Heights water system is being contaminated by harmful chemicals that are sprayed during the fire drills at Fairchild Airforce Base since 1970. We need the holy oil but it is not permitted. With many prayers, < Shappa - WA > I am a Roman Catholic born and raised. I feel alone here in prison. Lots of people tell me that I am wrong for praying to Mary. They call her an idol. I love Mary, the Mother of my Lord. There is no Catholic Mass here, just Baptist and non-denominational. I can’t do without Jesus, I need Him. Please send me prayer cards and leaflets, and unite me with others in prayer. I am in a single cell, 24 hours a day. What I wouldn’t give to see the sky and sun again! Please pray for me. < Marco - TX >
