“We did very well and of course we enjoyed the drive to the island – it was so beautiful,” Alisha said. “We thought it was a very successful season and feel the Boca Grande community was very welcoming and accepting of us," she said. They remain busy throughout the summer and are currently focusing on sales from their online store. “We’re constantly traveling to farmer's markets around southwest Florida during season and we also participate in some art festivals around the area,” she said. “In the summer months, our main income comes from our online store where people can choose to purchase wholesale stock from our ETSY site. Then we will start the weekly markets up again in October.” She said they are working on trying to privatize their selling in the future. Air plants (Tillandsias) are easy to care for, hardy plants that don’t require too much attention, as other houseplants often need. They just have to be submerged in water for one minute every week to keep healthy, and they do well in both bright areas and in shade. Alisha and Anson currently live in Fort Myers now and they do most of the growing on their three-acre property. Alisha is from Rhode Island so in the summer months they partake in art festivals in Boston and throughout Massachusetts. They also often travel to the east coast of Florida to be in markets and fairs.
