We knew we were going to expand. That’s why we put ‘And More’ in our name,” he said. In March 2016, Michael and Natasha set up a tent at the Claxton Rattlesnake Roundup Festival and took orders. “We had purses and other products people could buy on the spot. We didn’t have a mobile embroidery machine, so if they wanted it embroidered, we took it back to the shop and called when it was ready,” said Natasha. “We had orders for monograms, more of Michael’s pens, and personalized prints with the origin of names or scriptures.” The festival was such a great success that Michael and Natasha decided to purchase a mobile embroidery trailer, which allows them to fulfill embroidery orders for items right on the spot. “We now do festivals pretty much every weekend somewhere in Georgia, South Carolina, or Florida,” said Natasha. The couple’s Vidalia shop is filled with beautiful items for personalization including handbags, totes, caps, backpacks, throws, blankets, baby clothing, shirts, uniforms, scrubs, ties, plaques, leather, and awards. In addition to embroidery and personalized prints, they now offer sublimation as well. “We can personalize serving trays, vinyl, car decals, yard signs, yeti cups, wine glasses, and phone cases, just to name a few,” said Michael. I got the feeling that whatever you wanted personalized, Mina’s had a way to get it done. And, of course, there are Michael’s pens, which he makes with everything from amboyna, cherry, flam boxelder, coolibah burl woods to bolt action ammunition, a favorite with hunters. “He also makes a pen with olive wood from Bethlehem that comes with an authenticity certificate,” said Natasha. Almost two years have passed since Michael and Natasha stood on the porch of their dream farm house in Georgia and spoke their wedding vows to one another. During Christmas, personalized orders kept them working most nights past midnight. It was a tough decision, but a choice had to be made. Between the day-to-day work at the store and the festivals on the weekends, there was no time for horses or upkeep on an 1885 farm house. The horse they’d rescued found a nice home on a 100-acre farm, and the house went up for sale. Letting go can feel like giving up, but sometimes letting go allows us to reach for something new. “Sometimes when things seem to be falling apart, our life is actually falling into place,” writes best-selling author Shannon Kaiser for “The Blog” on Huffingtonpost.com. “…. When it comes to dreams, letting go can sometimes feel like giving up. But sometimes, a fulfilling life grows from knowing when to let go of one goal and trade that vision for a new one.” Perhaps dreams are meant to evolve, to be shaped and formed along the way. The dream Michael and Natasha first imagined brought them to a farm in South Georgia. But the life they created here made them a part of our community. And as much as we all need dreams, we need community even more. TCM For more information visit Minas Embroidery and More LLC on Facebook.
