2016 CCBL SEASON REVIEW YD RED SOX DEFEAT FALMOUTH TO RECORD THEIR THIRD CONSECUTIVE CAPE TITLE The Firebirds congratulate the Yarmouth- Dennis Red Sox for winning their third consecutive Cape League title, beating the Falmouth Commodores in a three game Championship series. Last years title was the sixth for Y-D in the last 13 years, all behind veteran manager Scott Pickler. Despite losing their first five games, the Red Sox rallied to finish the regular season as the #2 seed in the Eastern Division playoffs. The Red Sox prompty swept the Anglers. In the Championship series the Red Sox met President’s Trophy winning Falmouth. The Commodores won game one but again the Red Sox rallied to win the final two games, including game three 3-0 behind a standout performance by pitcher Bryan Sammons (Western Carolina).
