ElevenOne Studios is a studio in Lillington, NC that focuses on classical education in visual arts and classical music. The owners, Angelica Gonzalez and Brandi Neighbors met in 2009 while attending graduate school at Pensacola Christian College (PCC) in Pensacola, Florida and opened ElevenOne Studios in 2013. While attending her first year of college at PCC, Brandi discovered that many universities near her hometown in North Carolina did not focus on building a strong skill level in visual arts. “I was discouraged at first, until I noticed that the freshman level of drawing at PCC was very strong.” She realized that she would not only receive a degree at PCC, but also build her skills and gain confidence in her art necessary to succeed in her career of choice. During graduate school, Brandi had the opportunity to teach various subjects at the high school and collegiate level and found that she enjoyed teaching very much. Angelica grew up surrounded by music and began violin lessons at age five at Hochstein School of Music and Dance in Rochester, NY. She studied under various instructors up through high school and was a member of Hochstein’s orchestras from 6th -12th grade. Angelica attended PCC for undergraduate and graduate studies in music performance and music education. While in graduate school she had the opportunity to teach orchestral strings classes and private lessons at Pensacola Christian Academy as well as Pensacola Christian College. She was able to continue teaching the same classes for two more years beyond graduation. She was also a member of several music committees including college performance competitions. In 2012, Angelica and Brandi both felt that God was leading them to combine forces and take the classical methods in art and music to North Carolina. After they had spoken about bringing their dream together, the plans to open ElevenOne Studios began. They found an affordable storefront building in downtown Lillington, NC and transformed it into a working studio.
