Left: Venturing out to another spot on the river. Crystal River Watersports is located at 2380 N. Suncoast Blvd in Crystal River, Fl. It was so thrilling to be swimming with these magnificent, peaceful creatures. It was difficult to leave that area. We probably stayed there for about 45 minutes. But there were more places to explore and we only rented the boat for four hours. We hit a couple more stops and then headed back to dock. The boat ride back was relaxing and we all talked about how exciting the excursion was. The cool and cloudy, foggy morning had quickly transformed into a warm and sunny afternoon. There was a delightful little waterfront restaurant where we enjoyed a relaxing lunch with a view of the riverfront. Crystal River Watersports is one of several marinas and dive shops with direct access to the river. There are a handful of springs and bays to snorkel, dive and fish in. Some of the shops offer guided boat tours and you can also take a scuba diving course with a certified instructor. And don’t worry if you don’t know how to swim, they also offer swim lessons to prepare you to take the plunge. There are a few hotels, restaurants and gift shops in town, but other than that, it is very much citrus country. Crystal River Watersports offers a range of activities that can be combined for a day or a full weekend of fun. For more information, call (352) 795-7033 or visit crystalriverwatersports.com.
