Amanda Ellington A & M Lawn Care Find a pot, window box, or an old shoe if that's your style to plant your creation. Always check your local nursery for perennials or annuals. First of all, check your "sun/ shade" factor. Common sense, if it is sunny for the better part of the day, plant for full sun. The same goes for shade. Make sure there's a drainage hole in the piece you're planting. Always start with fresh potting soil. It usually contains all the nutrients and minerals a plant will need to grow successfully. My Theory: something tall, something that spills over, and a perennial or two, then your annual flowers for color. For sun, I personally love Lantana Zinnias and Gerbera Daisies. For shade I love Angel Wing Begonias, Caladiums and Ferns. Tall green grasses and Creeping Jenny are some of my favorite pot fillers. Plant some beauties that will come back such as small Hosta Button Ferns or Who Chehra. Slam your pot full, water your creation, and ENJOY! 16
