Dean Kent ’92, a shareholder in the Tampa offi ce of Trenam Law, represented Commodores Entertainment Group in a trademark case. In a dispute over the use and ownership of The Commodores name, the judge ruled in favor of Kent’s clients, two of the group’s founding members. Romeo’s unit recently was recognized with the Chief’s Appreciation Award from Tampa Police Chief Eric Ward, and their contribution to the FDLE crime lab, in conjunction with the Tampa Police Department and ATF, led to over 100 cooperative operations and 30 federal indictments, signifi cantly reducing violent gun crime in the Tampa area. Ed Carlstedt ’89, a partner in Ford Harrison Attorney’s Tampa offi ce, was selected to the 2016 Super Lawyers List. Anthony Diaz ’89 is now COO/ CMO of Sixthman, an Atlanta-based company that creates themed cruise experiences for bands and their fans. Diaz was recently featured in a Forbes article discussing what sets his company apart and how it continues to innovate. Dan Doyle Jr. ’89, CEO of Dex Imaging, recently announced the Tampabased company’s largest acquisition to date. The purchase of Modular Document Solutions will allow the company to expand its product offerings and increase manpower in Florida and now into the Carolinas. Joseph Gonzalez ’89 is now Committee Chairman at Central Florida Plumbing Academy, LLC. Kevin McLaughlin ’89 was recently sworn in as President of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, to serve for this next year. As president, McLaughlin leads one of the largest voluntary bar associations in Florida, with more than 4,000 attorneys, judges, and legal professionals. Jeff rey Tyrrell ’93 was recently featured on the North Carolina State University website for his nontraditional career path. After receiving an undergraduate degree from Harvard University, working for a software company, graduating from UCLA law school and working for two large law fi rms, Tyrell entered the university’s College of Veterinary Medicine as part of the class of 2020. Instead of calling this a drastic career change, Tyrrell calls it “a career 40 years in the making.” Derek Piniella ’97, Josh Cervi ’97, and Casey Camero ’02 were honored as three of the NuVasive’s top 24 sales representatives worldwide, earning membership in the company’s Chairman’s Club, in Nevis, West Indies. NuVasive is a medical device company based in San Diego that specializes in minimally disruptive surgical products and optimizing the surgical process for the spine. Chairman’s Club members represent the top 4% of the company’s global sales force. Pat Carroll ’98 and his company, Carroll Organization, of which he is the CEO and founder, completed the sale of the apartment community ARIUM McAlpine Creek in Charlotte, N.C., the fi rst property sale from its investment vehicle, Carroll Multifamily Real Estate Fund III, LP. Carroll had purchased the 214-unit property in July 2014. Carroll Organization has purchased, developed, or sold more than $3.5 billion in real estate. 1990s Gavin Gamber ’92 is Vice President, Channel Sales and Alliances at ConnectWise. His company recently announced a partnership with TechData that will simplify the buying experience for solution providers. Thomas Hernandez ’98, of Ciminelli Real Estate Services of Florida, LLC, was recently awarded the SIOR designation by the Society of Industrial and Offi ce REALTORS®. SIOR designees are specialists in their industrial and offi ce markets, closing on average, more than 30 transactions per year.
